Cooperative Business Association CLUSA International (NCBA CLUSA) is the trade
association for cooperative businesses in the United States and an
international development organization. NCBA CLUSA provides
cross-sector advocacy, education, and technical assistance that help
cooperative businesses thrive. For nearly 100 years, NCBA CLUSA has sought to
advance and protect cooperative enterprises, highlighting the impact that cooperatives
have in bettering the lives of individuals and families.
Amy Coughenour Betancourt oversees CLUSA’s $210+ million international portfolio in 18 countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Prior to joining NCBA, Coughenour served as deputy director of the Pan American Development Foundation. She also worked for the Center for Strategic and International Studies on its Americas Program Caribbean initiatives and the Center for Occupational Research and Development, a workforce education and training organization.
